Africanismo

Africanismo Africanismo is dedicated to showcasing the performing arts traditions of The African Diaspora (and Africa), particularly those found in Latin America.

Founded by Kaisha S. Johnson, performing arts curator and cultural researcher, Africanismo seeks to help spotlight less visible populations of the Diaspora through the performing arts and provide a point of cultural reference to illuminate the lineage and influence of the African continent throughout the Americas. Ultimately, through the prism of the performing arts, Africanismo aims to spark dialogue to confront conventional thought of what it means to be Black in The Americas and promote inclusiveness among all people.
