Last weekend, our team competed in the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition in San Juan 🇵🇷
Competitors Gabriella Schifano, Stephanie Leibowitz, Angela Giaconia, and Cory Bolton tackled a challenging negligence case, arguing whether Malgreens was liable for recommending medication to Dany Snore. Both sided did an excellent job putting on their case!

Ayla Misbah and Max Greenberg, coached by Zoe Schacht and Evan Oliver, were quarter finalists in the Touro National Moot Court Competition in Law and Religion!!
They tackled the issues of whether a mandatory reporting law, that requires clergy members and other functionally equivalent religious leaders to report suspected child abuse even when those communications are protected by the sacramental seal, violates the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause.
Ayla was awarded Best Oralist and Max was awarded 6th Best Oralist. Congratulations to Ayla and Max, as well as their coaches Zoe Schacht and Evan Oliver!

Congratulations to the Kaufman Securities Team for competing at Fordham this past weekend! Competitors Caleb Gray and Henry Rogers argued about the pleading requirements for a securities fraud claim under Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act, specifically the use of expert opinion to plead falsity and the requirements for establishing reliance based on an issuer’s alleged omissions and misstatements.

Congratulations to our AAJ National Team for competing in New York on a case concerning premises liability. Competitors Alexandria Lindsay, Jake Goldenberg, Niki Gerakaris, and Vlad Pavlov worked extremely hard on this issue, and should be very proud of themselves!

Congrats to Alex Pan, Lorena Flores, Elizabeth Carey, and Samantha Barnes who competed in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition this past weekend! Together, they tackled a problem about third party intervention in a case before the international court of justice concerning the rights of indigenous populations in international mining projects, extradition treaties, and the sovereign immunity of state-run corporations!!
Also shout out to their coaches Philipine Mariaud, Michael Klebosky, Paige Cook, and Taran Rao!
