This is one of my favorite moments at GIANT - making a battery with GIANT Kids out of potatoes and tomatoes 🥔🍅, lighting up a tiny LED ⚡️, and catching them writing down how it works while misspelling words like “electricity,” “wire,” and “bulb” 💡

GIANT Kids learn how to play and build with electricity even before they know how to spell the word “electricity” ⚡️ Tech isn’t something fancy that they only get to learn about when they grow up… it’s just another tool in their toy box that they get to play with whenever they need to light something up 💪

The Lysol® Minilabs Science Program for the 2025-2026 school year has officially been kicked off! Lesson #2 of the first module includes a hands-on activity where students design and build a model of their own microbes. Check out these super fun microbes created by students at Jefferson Elementary in Dixon, Illinois!

Another co-design opportunity for kids entering 4th and 5th grades!

We are partnering with Lirvana Labs and to co-design a writing app. Participants who join will receive $25 per session as a token of our appreciation.

Participation entails joining three free, two hour workshops focused on co-designing and playfully brainstorming ideas with designers and industry innovators. Kids who join will have a chance to learn and practice the art of giving and receiving feedback and then to join a prototyping exercise with industry innovators and researchers. Applicants must join all three workshops on August 18th, August 19th, and August 20th from 10am to 12pm. All sessions will be held in person at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Co-design opportunity for kids entering grades 4 and 5 this upcoming school year!

We are partnering with and from Sesame Workshop to co-design new methods of small group learning and enrichment math activities. Children entering grades 4 and 5 this upcoming school year are invited to apply and join the co-design workshops.

Participation entails joining three free, two hour workshops focused on co-designing and playfully brainstorming ideas with designers and industry innovators. Kids who join will have a chance to learn and practice the art of giving and receiving feedback and then to join a prototyping exercise with industry innovators and researchers. Applicants must join all three workshops on July 30th, July 31st, and August 1st from 10am to 12pm. All sessions will be held in person at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

The GIANT Room and are calling on parents to share their thoughts on kids’ digital play platforms!

Participation entails joining two online focus groups and one free workshop focused on co-designing and learning parents’ thoughts on various gaming platforms. Participating parents will be required to join all three sessions. The first online focus group will be scheduled on July 24th and the second will be held on July 29th. The in-person co-design session will be held on July 28th in-person at Sesame Workshop in New York City. When completing the application, applicants will be asked which times work best for them for all three sessions.

Participants will receive a $200 incentive for their participation in all three sessions!
