Dr. Randy P. Auerbach’s research is committed to improving our understanding of depression and su***de in adolescents.
07/30/2019
Su***de is a leading cause of death among adolescents, and despite this pressing public health crisis, little is known about factors that confer imminent risk for su***de. However, recent advancements in mobile technologies afford the capacity to monitor known risk factors—including emotional distress, social dysfunction, and sleep disturbance—which has the potential to revolutionize our insight and clinical management of short-term risk for suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Thus, Dr. Auerbach and collaborators are conducting innovative research into the naturalistic use of smartphone technology for the prediction of su***de. Check out more information regarding this research as featured in the Wall Street Journal.
