Another amazing Park Avenue Day in the books! The energy this year was absolutely incredible. What fun it was to meet so many neighborhood families and collaborate with some of our favorite early childhood educators and programs to create a day full of creativity, play, and joyful activities for our littlest neighbors.

There’s something so special about seeing our neighborhood show up and show OUT for this amazing tradition year after year. We are endlessly grateful to the volunteers of The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association for organizing such a wonderful day for our community!

Miss Jessica from The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association joined our Fours class for another special visit as part of the Adopt-a-Block initiative! Throughout the year, our Fours students have proudly “adopted” our block, helping care for the neighborhood and learning what it means to be active members of their community.

This visit, Miss Jessica surprised our students with some ~very~ cool “Do Good in the Hood” t-shirts, and together they planted flowers in our front courtyard to help beautify the block and welcome pollinators to Murray Hill.

This partnership has been such a meaningful experience for our students. Through these hands-on opportunities and amazing visits from Miss Jessica (seriously, she’s the best!), they’ve been building responsibility, confidence, community awareness, and a sense that they can make a positive impact on the world around them. Huge thanks to The Murray Hill Neighborhood AssociationThe Murray Hill Neighborhood Association for helping our students deepen their relationship with our community! 🌸

We 💙 our blue blocks, and here’s why:

These simple foam pieces become so much more in the hands of our students. We’ve seen them transform into forts, pirate ships, bridges, obstacle courses, springboards, castles…entire imaginative worlds!

They’re the perfect tool for open-ended play—there’s no single “right” way to use them. That means more creativity, more collaboration, and more problem-solving as our preschoolers plan, build, test, and rebuild together.

This is what learning through play looks like at Wee Ones Club: early engineering, storytelling, social-emotional growth, and physical development all in one joyful, child-led experience.

No jungle gym? No problem. With our trusty blue blocks, we can build our own (…and a lot of other things, too)! 😉

What a special visit in Threes! An amazing parent guest taught our students about Türkiye and Çocuk Bayramı—Children’s Day!

We feasted on Turkish-style pizzas, dates, and delicious lokum as a final sweet treat. Add in a backyard game of hide and seek, and you’ve got yourself a FANTASTIC day at preschool. 🤗

🔎🐞 The Twos are keeping an eye on their ladybug larvae!

They’ve been watching these little guys closely, and have made some excellent observations: the larvae are growing bigger, have some new yellow stripes, and are very active in climbing around their habitat. It won’t be long before they enter the pupa stage!

We love incorporating longer-term projects like this one into our classroom routine. ❤️A hands-on experience of the ladybug life cycle is great for fostering curiosity about the ecology that surrounds us, working on patience, and boosting observational skills.

Stay tuned for more of our ladybug journey over the coming weeks! 🐞🐞🐞

We had a special visit from children’s author and music educator PJ Andrews last week! Our preschool classes enjoyed sing-along concerts and readings of his fabulous new book Peanut Butter Angelica—a sweet story of friendship, courage, and mutual inspiration. We had so much fun rocking out with PJ!

It’s planting season! 🤗🌱🤩

The Twos got busy in the backyard this morning, planting beans in biodegradable pots and carefully watering them before bringing them back to the classroom, where they’ll care for them over the coming weeks.

We ❤️ our Mystery Readers!

It’s no secret that reading aloud is one of the most powerful ways to support early childhood development. It builds vocabulary, strengthens listening skills, and helps children begin to understand how stories work—all essential foundations for literacy. Our Mystery Readers take it one step further, bringing community into our pre-literacy curriculum while adding an extra dose of fun and excitement to our classrooms.

We are so grateful for all of the wonderful story times they’ve shared with us at Wee Ones Club. Thank you for helping us grow curious, confident, and joyful readers ❤️
