Our History - In Celebration of Marxe School's 30th Anniversary!

From Years 1919-1994
Before the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs was named in 2016, before the School of Public Affairs came to be in 1994, and even before Baruch College was created in 1968, The City College School of Business and Civic Administration was founded in 1919. In 1951, the School offered its first Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, and a Department of Public Administration was created in 1973. In 1980, the Department’s MPA was the first in New York City accredited by NASPAA, and the Executive MPA program was the first offered in 1984. Ten years later the School of Public Affairs opened its doors.
