Graduate Students Association (GSA) just announced this year's Conference Travel Awards. They've cut it to one conference travel award per academic year instead of two last year. We need to complain because the funds for Conference Travel Award come from our tuition.d

Attention: Hunter College Community!
Nominations are due this coming Friday October 5th to run for a CLUB TESOL office. You may nominate yourself or someone else. Candidates should prepare a short statement (max 300 words) about what they would do if elected.
What is Club TESOL?
CLUB TESOL is a student group that represents the interests of graduate students in the MA TESOL program. After a few years in hibernation, it was restarted in 2011. Club TESOL organizes activities, speakers, workshops, and social events that are of particular interest to TESOLers. For instance, last year we hosted a dinner with a program that recruits EFL teachers at the National TESOL conference in Philadelphia. Club TESOL is looking for a new executive for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Executive of Club TESOL is comprised of:
1. President
2. Vice-President
3. Treasurer
4. Secretary
The executive members of Club TESOL work together as a team, and sometimes with faculty.
As an official club under the Graduate Students Association (GSA), Club TESOL has access to funds for club activities. By being active, we have a say in how the money we pay in tuition goes to services that benefit us.
If you are interested in running for an executive position at Club TESOL of Hunter College, please send an email with a short letter of intent to [email protected] (last year's faculty sponsor) or [email protected] (last year's president) by October 5th.
Executive members must be a current Hunter College student taking 3 credits or more. Professor Rosalia will be available on Friday, October 5th at 4pm-5pm in Room W1111, should you have any questions. Please RSVP. Let’s keep Club TESOL going!
NOTE: Online elections will occur the following Friday October 12-14. If you self-nominate yourself, please send your 300 word (max) platform directly to Professor Rosalia. If someone else nominates, you Professor Rosalia will contact you and ask you to also prepare this writing, should you accept.
