Yesterday marked the 60th Anniversary of World Gratitude Day! To celebrate, we’re giving away a free Savor! Spoon for every Grateful Plate purchased.

What’s a Grateful Plate? A positive environmental primer to remind you to pause, appreciate, and savor.

Years ago, a dear friend gifted me a gratitude plate, and it quickly became the most coveted dish in my household. Every time I used it, it invited me to pause before eating, reflect on what I was grateful for, and again at the end of the meal when the plate was empty and the word grateful shone through. It slowed me down, made my meal more mindful, and turned an ordinary dinner into a meaningful ritual.

Simple cues in our environment can gently nudge us toward the habits and practices we want to strengthen, like gratitude and mindful eating.

That experience inspired me to create Grateful Plates, along with the return of our beloved Savor! Spoons.

Hi friends, I recently had the pleasure of discussing a crucial concept on the S*x Reimagined Podcast: the difference between belonging and mattering.

Here's the key insight I shared:

Mattering = Impact + Recognition

In my years of research and practice, I've found that people feel they truly matter when:

1️⃣ They believe they're making an impact
2️⃣ Others recognize and appreciate their value

Let me break it down:

Belonging is beautiful, but mattering? That's where real transformation happens. It's not just about fitting in; it's about knowing your presence makes a difference.

Here's the exciting part: We have more power to foster mattering than belonging. How? By explicitly telling people their impact:
"Your kindness brightened my day." "Your insight changed my perspective."

While we can't control how others internalize our words, we can create more opportunities for people to feel they matter.

I challenge you: Tell someone specific today how they matter to you. You might be surprised at the ripple effect!

Remember, YOU matter. Your unique experiences, perspectives, and presence in this world are invaluable. Never doubt it. 💖
