The final round of the Middle School Spelling Bee was held today, and fourth grader Peter M. came out on top, with sixth grader Charlie D. a close second. Mr. Demeny threw out some curveballs, including ambidextrous, triskaidekaphobia, and sesquipedalian. Hats off to all six spellers for their composure and sportsmanship.

Grade III boys took to the park on Friday for a birding adventure, accompanied by former St. Bernard's teacher and birder extraordinaire Peter Joost — a wonderful addition to their final week of Junior School.

Three cheers for Sports Day! We tried something new this year, and held the color games in the morning before the traditional Sports Day competitions in the park. Thanks to all for the enthusiasm despite the heat wave! 🏅☀️

This year's benefit, The Greatest Show on 98th Street, was a roaring success! The circus-themed evening was tons of fun thanks to the hard work of the Parents Association. Even our favorite St. Bernard dogs made an appearance. It was an unforgettable night under the St. B's big top!

Last Friday’s assembly was an early celebration of America’s 250th birthday with a variety show of history, poetry, comedy, remarkable speeches, and singing—all of our favorite things in one action-packed hour. Swipe to the final slide to see Mr. Hagon as King George!

Better late than never! After a January postponement, St. Bernard’s took to the ice last night for our annual skating party at Wollman Rink. The extra hours of daylight added to the fun. Many thanks to the Parents Association for another Great Skate!

Bravo to the Class of 2026 for their terrific production of "Twelfth Night, or What You Will" by William Shakespeare, performed last night to a packed house at El Museo del Barrio. This was the tenth play directed by Bradford Cover, an Old Boy from the Class of 1981. The eighth grade has performed a Shakespeare play every year since 1910, making it one of the school's longest-running traditions.
