We have just learned of the passing of Brother Bernard Hanson, FSC (Anselm Bernard), on October 29, 2023, at age 89. Brother "Bernie" taught French, Spanish, and Religion and was the legendary manager of the boys' bookstore. May he rest in peace. Please note that his CSHS dates are incorrect in the obituary; he was at Spellman from '62 to '70.

We are sorry to announce the death of our classmate, Darwin Ortiz, '66. Darwin died of complications of Parkinson's Disease on October 13, 2023 at age 75. At Spellman, he was an accomplished debater and public speaker. He had a long and successful career as a magician and expert on card gaming and tricks. He authored several books and was a sought-after instructor, and consultant on casino security. We regret that we do not have any further personal or family information.

May he rest in peace.

Our 55th anniversary reunion was small but delightful! Thanks to our alma mater for the hospitality and to God for the great weather. We were FINALLY able to take advantage of our "senior privilege" of hanging out in the courtyard! Photos courtesy of Fran Fabrizio Oldi '66.
