It is Hispanic Heritage Month and we are proud to feature a composition by Argentinian living composer Fernando Manuel Dieguez in our Resonance Book 1.
This lovely piece, titled Chamamé is the first movement of a larger work for cello ensemble called Enchelación.
Chamamé is a rhythm originally from the province of Corrientes in Argentina, but it has spread to the south of Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Our books didn’t make it on time to CSI, but if you are around here, make sure to stop by the office table and look at our sample copies. You can also grab a card that has the QR code to our website and order your copies online!
It was so fun to see Laura work on Before Dinner with her CSI repertoire class this week! Also, if you see Bianca and Laura around and have any questions about the books we will be so happy to talk about it!

🇨🇩 Happy Independence Day to the Democratic Republic of the Congo! Today marks 66 years of independence and celebrates the resilience, strength, and rich cultural heritage of the Congolese people.

We’re also thrilled to celebrate the DRC’s historic first-ever FIFA World Cup victory over the weekend! Their recent win advanced them into the knockout stage for the first time in the nation’s history 🥳🏟️

In our video, you’ll hear Music Institute of Chicago Pre-Twinkle students led by teachers Bianca Prado and Julia Wen learning call and response through the DRC folk song, Before Dinner.

We are thrilled to have wonderful violist and viola professor Dr. Katherine Lewis collaborating with us to adapt our beloved Resonance Cello Method for Viola!
