Stella and Charles Guttman College is designed to link field experiences with classroom learning. You’ll start full time, engaged in a rigorous set of core courses dedicated to hands-on learning. From the outset, you’ll find a highly supportive environment designed for your success. In the Summer Bridge Program, your peers and instructional team will form a learning community that will remain together throughout the fall semester. A weekly advisement seminar and Peer Mentor program will help you stay on track to graduation. The degree programs will prepare you to pursue career opportunities or continue your education for a bachelor’s degree. If you choose to further your education, Guttman Community College has partnerships with select four-year CUNY colleges to ensure a smooth pathway.

Hispanic & Latine Heritage Month has begun, and we're kicking things off tomorrow with a fun event in the Atrium celebrating the historical and cultural significance of Hispanic and Latine heritage! Join the upcoming celebrations! (All events are during common hour, 1:15-2:45).

9/17 - Hispanic / Latine Heritage Month Kickoff (Atrium) – Enjoy trivia, mariachi, an engaging historical presentation and light refreshments
9/24 - Paint y Platicar (room TBD) – Paint, sip and discuss cultural traditions, identity and community
9/29 - Island Mix & Mingle (Grizzly Den) - Connect, eat, play trivia and represent your roots!
10/8 - Hispanic Dance Hour (Room 410) - Come dance to Hispanic music
10/15 - Conexiones (Room 410) – Expand your network and gain career insights by connecting with Hispanic professionals from a variety of industries

Christian Gutierrez, Class of 2016 business major, will be speaking at tomorrow's New Student Convocation! Christian is an East Harlem native and was an active member of the United Men of Color program. After Guttman, he continued his education at Berkeley College, earning both a bachelor’s in business and a master’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing.

“Guttman gave me the opportunity to open my mind to learning and seeking more knowledge from different points of view. It also gave me the chance to join UMOC, which gave me the confidence that I can be the man I want to be professionally. Looking back at it, I think Guttman’s a good start point for those transitioning into college, giving them a strong foundation while pushing them effectively enough that they can find themselves.”
