Discovery Programs

Hello everyone!

We have two VERY special events this weekend!

First, starting today through Sunday is the USAIGC Regional Championships! Diamond is competing as we speak, with Silver to follow shortly. Tomorrow, Bronze competes and on Sunday, Copper 1 and 2 and Gems competes!

On Sunday, we also have our Spring Dance Recital with dancers from all of our ballet classes performing.

We are thrilled for both events! This is the culmination of the entire school year. We can’t believe the spring semester is coming to a close!

Discovery Programs is CLOSED from Thursday, May 21st through Monday, May 25th.

What are we learning in the gym portion of On My Own?

Practicing balance by tapping the cones with their hands and feet while walking along the balance beam

Walking up the cheese mat while hanging on the bar - this is the foundational step for a pullover!

Practicing handstands on cheese mats and against the wall, promoting strength and focus

Learning cartwheels with proper hand and foot placement

Throwing bean bags into buckets - practicing color matching and gross motor skills

Kicking soccer balls into nets

These exercises in our gymnastics curriculum are fun for the kids, promote confidence, and develop motor planning and coordination.

HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!

This week, we are extending our gratitude to our teaching staff: karate and dance teachers, early childhood teachers and gymnastics coaches. To those pictured and not pictured, we appreciate all that you do to encourage and inspire our students everyday. Discovery wouldn’t run without you!
