In July 2005, a team of six teachers founded KIPP Infinity Charter School with 88 fifth graders from Washington Heights, West Harlem, and the South Bronx.
In 2008-09, KIPP Infinity grew to full size (grades 5-8) with 285 students and was the number one public school in New York City, as determined by the NYC Department of Education Annual Progress Reports.
