Our after school chess program wrapped up the year with a lively and memorable award ceremony, warmly attended by proud parents and families. The room was filled with excitement and celebration as the children reflected on a year of learning, strategy, and growth through the game of chess.
To kick off the event, the students proudly presented creative chess crowns they had made themselves, each one unique and full of personality. These crowns added a festive touch and highlighted their creativity alongside their chess learning. The children then took part in a fun mini quiz, enthusiastically answering questions that tested their chess knowledge, from piece movements to basic strategies they had explored throughout the year.
The atmosphere was joyful and encouraging, with every child eagerly participating and cheering one another on. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to demonstrate how much they had learned in a supportive and engaging setting.
Following the quiz, each student was individually recognized for their efforts and achievements. Every child received a certificate of participation, a chess medal, and a chess piece keychain as a special keepsake to remember their journey in the program.
Awards were presented not only for chess understanding but also for important personal qualities developed throughout the year, including concentration, focus, curiosity, and excellent sportsmanship. These values were consistently encouraged during classes and were clearly reflected in how the children played and interacted with one another.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, with smiles all around and a strong sense of pride and accomplishment. It was a joyful celebration of both learning and character, marking a successful end to a fantastic year of chess.

Room 2 End-of-Year Celebration
Room 2 wrapped up an incredible year with a special celebration for families! Parents joined us for an afternoon filled with laughter, memories, and a few surprises.
One highlight was our "Guess the Baby" game, where families and children tried to guess who the baby photo is to their classmates. There were plenty of smiles as everyone discovered just how much (or how little!) the children had changed over the years.
Families also enjoyed a heartwarming video interview featuring the children reflecting on "All About Me." Their thoughtful and often humorous responses reminded us all how much they have grown.
To end the celebration, the children performed "I'll Always Remember You," a touching tribute to the friendships, experiences, and memories they have made throughout the year. There was hardly a dry eye in the room as they sang with pride and enthusiasm.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate a year of learning, growth, and achievement. We are so proud of all the children and grateful to our families for their continued support. Room 2 will always hold a special place in our hearts! β€οΈ

Room 1 recently hosted a Dinosaur Themed Teacher Playdate after school, providing students with an exciting evening of hands-on learning, exploration, and fun. The children eagerly participated in a variety of dinosaur inspired activities designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction.
Some of the evening's highlights included feeding the dinosaur, excavating dinosaur egg fossils, and completing dinosaur themed puzzles. These engaging activities allowed students to work together, use their imaginations, and develop important fine motor and critical thinking skills while immersed in a prehistoric adventure.
The fun continued as the children gathered to enjoy pizza and ice cream together, creating opportunities for friendship and community building outside of the regular school day. The evening concluded with a special dinosaur themed show that captivated the audience and provided the perfect ending to a memorable event.
A wonderful time was had by all, and we thank our Room 1 teachers for creating such a meaningful and engaging experience for our students.

One of the wonderful parents in Room 7 recently visited our classroom to host a special cookie decorating event with the children. The students were excited to decorate beautifully shaped cookies in the form of ice cream cones and popsicles, making the activity a perfect celebration of the approaching summer season.
Using colorful icing, sprinkles, and a variety of sweet decorations, the children transformed their cookies into unique edible works of art. As they carefully decorated each treat, they practiced important fine motor skills by squeezing icing bags, placing decorations, and making thoughtful design choices. The activity also encouraged creativity, self-expression, and hand-eye coordination while giving students the opportunity to follow directions and engage in meaningful conversations with their classmates.
Beyond the fun of decorating, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to build social skills, share materials, and celebrate each other's creations. The classroom was filled with excitement, laughter, and proud smiles as the children admired their finished cookies and enjoyed spending time together.
We are incredibly grateful to our Room 7 parent volunteer for taking the time to plan and lead this special activity. Family involvement helps create enriching learning experiences and strengthens the connection between home and school. Thank you for making the day so memorable and sweet for our students!

The children in Room 4 worked on strengthening important early literacy and school readiness skills through engaging pre-writing activities using our Learning Without Tears materials. As they participated in hands-on lessons, students practiced fine motor development by using their fingers and hands to manipulate materials, helping to build the strength and control needed for future writing tasks.
These activities also supported letter recognition as children explored letter shapes, formations, and sounds in a fun and interactive way. In addition, students developed hand eye coordination by carefully following visual cues and using purposeful movements to complete tasks. Pre-writing experiences such as these lay the foundation for successful handwriting, reading, and overall academic growth.
Through play based learning and guided practice, our young learners are building confidence, independence, and the essential skills needed to become successful writers. We are proud of their hard work and enthusiasm as they continue to grow and learn each day!
