Today we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new pool at the James Monroe Campus—a milestone that will benefit students and the entire community for years to come.
Our swim team proudly participated in the ceremony, showcasing their skills and demonstrating the power of aquatic education. The message was clear: swimming is a life skill, not a luxury.
This incredible project, made possible through the partnership of Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and the School Construction Authority, provides students and community members access to a state-of-the-art facility where they can learn, grow, compete, and build confidence in the water. Speakers Deputy Mayor Dean Fuleihan, Deputy Chancellor Kevin Moran, Assemblymver Emerita Torres , and District 12 Superintendent Carl Manalo shared their own personal stories as well as their hopes for the future of our Monroe students.
Here’s to expanding opportunities, promoting safety, and ensuring every child has access to skills that can last a lifetime. 🏊♀️💙
Hoy celebramos la inauguración oficial de la nueva piscina del Campus James Monroe, un logro que beneficiará a nuestros estudiantes y a toda la comunidad durante muchos años.
Nuestro equipo de natación participó con orgullo en la ceremonia, demostrando sus habilidades y el impacto que tiene la educación acuática. El mensaje fue claro: nadar es una habilidad para la vida, no un lujo.
Este importante proyecto fue posible gracias a la colaboración entre la Presidenta del Condado del Bronx, Vanessa Gibson, y la School Construction Authority, brindando a estudiantes y residentes acceso a una instalación de primer nivel para aprender, crecer, competir y desarrollar confianza en el agua.
