Congratulations to Dr. Neil Freeman, VP&S’85, on receiving the 2026 Columbia Alumni Medal — one of the University’s highest honors for alumni service.

A deep dive through the VP&S alumni photo archive reveals Dr. Freeman’s smiling face in the background of nearly every reunion weekend, alumni gathering, and celebration over the past two decades. Known for his warmth, humility, and good humor, he has served on nearly every major leadership committee within the VP&S Alumni Association, including serving as its President and helping generations of alumni and students feel connected to the Columbia community.

Alongside his wife and classmate, Dr. Linda Aboody ’85, he also helped launch programs welcoming medical students far from home.

This well-deserved recognition celebrates a lifetime of service, generosity, and Columbia spirit. 💙
