First day of school is here at East Harlem Scholars Academy!

Our scholars are ready to learn, grow, and take on new challenges, while our teachers are ready to inspire, guide, and teach. We know the days ahead will be busy, but we’re looking forward to a successful year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of accomplishments.

Our enrollment team was proud to represent our organization at Tuesday’s annual National Night Out, hosted by the 23rd Precinct. The event served as a wonderful showcase of the diverse resources, schools, and programs available across our community. 💙

Throughout the afternoon, our staff connected with prospective families to outline our educational programs and distribute resources, while engaging younger attendees with interactive activities and prizes. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table and to the 23rd Precinct for leading a successful event.

Some of our dedicated scholars are spending part of their summer defying the statistics! Research shows that summer math loss causes the average student to lose 25–34% of their school-year progress. We are incredibly proud of their focus, hard work, and enthusiasm as they sharpen their math skills and prepare to hit the ground running this fall.

Our East Harlem Scholars Academy High School class of 2026 delivered some of the strongest post-secondary and academic outcomes in our school’s history this year.

Post-Secondary Pathways:
98% applied to a four-year college or university
95% were accepted
90% will matriculate
6% will serve in the military
4% will enter the workforce

Global History: +43
U.S. History: +30
Living Environment: +28
English: +25
Algebra I: +8

Behind every data point is a scholar, a family, and a team that kept pushing through the hardest challenges. The work continues, but today we celebrate. We are proud of our team and excited for what we are building next in East Harlem.

A night in Paris!✨🗼

Our 8th graders had an incredible time at prom last week, celebrating friendships, making memories, and dancing the night away. 💃🕺 We loved seeing so many smiles and having so much fun together! 🎉❤️

Our Grade 1 scholars showcased their creativity by designing robots that solve community problems, including a Doctor Robot, a Kindness Robot, and a Police Robot. 🤖

Grades 3–5 explored entrepreneurship through the Bizzy Bee Hair Salon & Makeup Cosmetology Class, where they learned hairstyling, makeup techniques, and the fundamentals of running a business. 💇🏾

Through these hands on experiences, scholars developed valuable skills while imagining the possibilities of their future careers. We are proud of their innovation, creativity, and dedication to learning! ☺️💙
