The Actors Gym is the place for new and experienced actors who want to blast threw their boundaries and take the necessary risks to become a COMPELLING ACTOR – not just a competent one. Having instructed hundreds of actors on the Michael Chekhov technique, Glickman has designed a clear and

effective process. One that provides the tools actors need to live spontaneously and do what they really WANT and NEED TO DO; take actions they never thought capable. Glickman’s ULTIMATE GOAL is to get you to “free yourself, from yourself” - TO GET YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY. To achieve this the actor must be fully COMMITED to get the RESULTS. The techniques implemented at The Actors Gym provide a very comprehensive WORK OUT as it basis itself in diligently and tirelessly working with instrument actors use - their body. Whether you are new to acting, returning after a hiatus or right in the thick of it, an actor, dancer, singer or musical theater artist, The Actors Gym provides a dynamic and creative environment to practice your craft, get feedback on your work in an open discussion setting and will deepen those respective skills to create in you a more fine tuned, specific and interesting artist. Glickman has taken his 20 years of acting and instructing experience to produce a powerful space where actors experiment, investigate and live to give form to their creative imagination. Glickman has developed was inspired by ideas pioneered by Michael Chekhov (nephew of Anton Chekhov) at the Moscow Art Theatre more than 100 years ago. Those very specific principles combined with Glickman’s skill to build upon the actors existing capacity promises to be a sound and strong methodology. These mechanics blend demanding physical work to create Flow from imaginative Atmospheres, Environments, Images, Centers, Qualities, Physical, Psychological and Archetypal Gestures - all to create Form.

I had the pleasure to work with a group of very talented peeps on the film project “Dreamster”. It is now an official selection at Screamfest Horror Film Festival. LA premiere October 15 at TCL Chinese Theatres. I might try and make it!!

We learn about our emotional range / capacity and take that to the moment of the scene and the characterization work we do. How we arrive and allow for ourselves to bring up these emotions can revolve around all the myriad different approaches and techniques we learn - the big “what if” question perhaps - what if I was in this/a situation along with connecting to our imagination to propel us into the “imaginary given circumstances” - and live truthfully in THEM.

Make no mistake - this has zero to do with “acting for the camera” or stage - this is ACTING. BEING. COMPELLING - no matter what the medium.
