Bay Ridge Toastmasters Bay Ridge Toastmasters is a local chapter of Toastmasters International. Our club is open to everyone. Please join us!!

Toastmasters will show you how to speak confidently, listen effectively and think on your feet. You will learn valuable communication and leadership skills - all in a friendly and supportive, non-intimidating environment. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been meeting exclusively on Zoom, and we open our Zoom line early around 6:55 pm. We will update this page when we begin meeting in person soon. Audrey has been a member of Bay Ridge Toastmasters since September 2009.

1- Why did you join Toastmasters?

In the corporate world, I excelled at technical analyses, but I was too shy and reserved (and scared) to communicate with senior management. I needed help building my confidence and developing my voice to speak up and out. So, I searched and found Bay Ridge Toastmasters.

2- Why did you choose Bay Ridge Toastmasters?

I chose Bay Ridge Toastmasters because it was an “open to all” club in my neighborhood and the members were welcoming and interested in helping me improve.

3- How have Toastmasters helped you?

I learned so much from Toastmasters… most importantly, how to develop a dynamic presentation that gets to the point and engages the audience. By the way, I received a promotion within two years of joining Toastmasters.

4- What advice would you give a prospective member?

Attend any Toastmasters meeting (around the world) as a guest to find the right fit and the most comfortable environment for you to learn. When you join, participate in the meetings by practicing your speeches. Practicing improves your communication skills.

Our club has a wonderful tradition of getting together for a social outing on the fifth Wednesday of the month. Today, we enjoyed a delightful dinner in Bay Ridge, where we also celebrated Allen's completion of Level 1 in the Pathways education program. Congratulations, Allen, on this important milestone! It was a wonderful evening filled with great food, friendship, and celebration.
