島根県のお寺の住職の息子として生まれた藤原敬己（けいぎ）さんは、ICUで生物学を学び、1968年に卒業しました。その後、ペンシルベニア大学で博士号（Ph.D.）を取得し、ハーバード大学医学部、ロチェスター大学、テキサス大学MDアンダーソンがんセンターなどで、研究者として輝かしいキャリアを築きました。お寺の後継者がICUに進学し、さらにアメリカでキャリアを築くに至った経緯について、藤原さんにご寄稿いただきました。https://tinyurl.com/y6hpj844

This March, Masako Hashigami completed her ten years of service as a trustee on the JICUF board. She is an ICU graduate (class of 1975) who went on to earn graduate degrees from Harvard Business School and Bard Graduate School. She has had a career in finance and served on the boards of the Japan Society and the Freer and Sackler Galleries. On April 2, two new Japan Education Pathways (JEP) Scholars matriculated at ICU. Solomiia, who is from Ukraine, and Zahra, who is from Afghanistan, are this year’s recipients of this scholarship. JEP was designed to support students fleeing conflict with full scholarships at universities in Japan, and ICU is a founding member.

On April 8, JICUF co-organized a symposium titled “Refugee Pathways to Japan: From Access to Impact” at the International House of Japan - 国際文化会館 (IHJ) in Tokyo. JICUF staff worked closely with IHJ, the American Friends of the International House of Japan and the United States-Japan Foundation (USJF) to plan and implement this event. 業務内容: JICUFウェブサイト、ソーシャルメディア、報告書等に使用する写真・ビデオの撮影と編集作業、InstagramやFacebookなどJICUFオフィシャルSNSへの投稿
募集人数: 2名
採用期間: 2026年9月〜2027年3月 ＊条件を満たせば延長可能
応募資格: 学位取得を目指す全てのICU生（留学/休学予定者は除く）
報酬: 時給16米ドル（支払いはPaypalを通して送金）

Main responsibilities: Photo/video shooting of subjects and JICUF events for use on JICUF’s website, social media, reports, etc.

Duration: Sep. 2026 - Jun. 2027 with extension possible. Eligibility: Open to all degree-seeking students
Compensation: $16 per hour (paid via PayPal)
