Our 7th graders kicked off the year with their first school trip at Columbia University’s Curious Minds Science Zone! 🔬🧪✨

Students had the opportunity to step into the role of scientists through STEM workshops, hands-on activities, and science explorations designed to spark curiosity, questioning, and discovery.

A huge thank you to Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Curious Minds team for creating a space where our students could think like scientists, explore new ideas, and stay curious about science! 💙🧠

What a great way to start a year of learning beyond the classroom! 💜

West Prep families, Back-to-School Night is almost here! 💜📚

Join us Wednesday, September 23 from 5:30–7:30 PM to meet your child’s teachers and learn what to expect this school year! 🏫✨ Grade 6 families will learn about middle school success, Grade 7 families will hear about getting ready for high school admissions, and Grade 8 families will get information about high school applications and specialized high school exams. 🎓📝

🍽️ Come early! Light refreshments will be served beginning at 5:00 PM in the gym. We can’t wait to see our Titan families! 💜🙌🏽

BIG NEWS FOR OUR TITANS! 🏀💜🎉

West Prep Academy has been selected to receive $800,000 in federal funding to help build a new rooftop playground! This space will give our middle school students more room to play, exercise, connect, and enjoy being together. 🏙️✨

A special thank you to U.S. Representative Adriano Espaillat for supporting this important investment in our school community. 🙌🏽💜

Funding is pending congressional approval.

We’re excited to welcome our scholars and families to the 2026–2027 school year! Here’s what you need to know:

📅 First Day: Thursday, September 10
⏰ School Hours: 8:00 AM–2:20 PM
👕 Uniform Pickup: September 2, 3, 8 and 9 from 9:30 AM–1:30 PM
📵 Cell phones and internet-enabled devices must be turned off and stored in school-issued pouches from bell to bell.
🎨 Westhab Afterschool begins Monday, September 14. Applications will be available during uniform pickup.
