Every spring, The Classic holds a fundraiser. You can buy our 2026 apparel at the below link or donate directly at the same link to support our student newspaper:
https://www.customink.com/fundraising/the-classic-spring-fundraiser
All proceeds go to support The Classic (web hosting fees, equipment for photos/videos/livestreams, etc.). The Classic is also working to raise its national profile and needs additional funding to do so. This is the first time our editors have submitted our digital news site for consideration at the nation’s top student journalism conference, and for the first time, The Classic online was named a finalist in the Pacemaker award (a national award sometimes referred to as the “Pulitzer Prize” of student newspapers). This year, The Classic was also awarded a Gold Medalist Certificate from Columbia University’s Annual Critique and won a Silver Crown at the CSPA conference.
All of this costs a great deal, and though we can find the funding required to enter these competitions, we are unable to send students to receive the awards they earn at these conferences without additional support.
Finally, you can read an overview of what The Classic accomplished in 2025 in this newsletter from our Business Team to get a sense of the work you’d be supporting:
