Our second language learning program is open to the public, although most of the students in our program are Columbia faculty/staff/students. The Fall 2025 schedule is from September 12 to December 17, with flexible scheduling. To sign up, please use this form.

CIFLTE Online Foreign Language Learning Program (COF)

CIFLTE Online Foreign Language Learning (COF) offers state-of-the-art learning of foreign languages primarily online.

The main language offered is Chinese taught by Chinese instructors who are trained in cutting-edge, foreign language teaching methodology, at the Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Other languages offered include English, Italian, German, Japanese, French, and Spanish. If you wish to learn any other language(s) not listed here. Other languages offered in the past include Hebrew, Urdu, and Arabic.

Online Chinese Learning Spring Enrollment Open at TC, Columbia University!

Our CIFLTE Online Foreign Language Learning Program provides online one-on-one or mini-group second language learning programs for Mandarin. All our teachers are trained in second language acquisition. Our enrollment is now open for the 2024 Spring Module. CIFLTE at TC can issue a Certificate of Completion upon request.
