Over the last year we have celebrated students from the Writers Studio from the San Francisco branch, the Tutorial and Online Programs and the Faculty but today we are releasing the recorded version of the Poetry Students reading held on April 10, 2022. This video was co-hosted by Lisa Bellamy and Peter Krass who teach advanced poetry at the Writers Studio and features original work by Cassie Burkhardt, Rob Cook, Linda Drach, Taryn FitzPatrick, Valarie Hastings, Dave Kirkpatrick & Virginia Sasser.

On November 7th The Writers Studio celebrated the publication of Ed Hirsch's amazing collection 100 Poems to Break Your Heart with readings by and discussions with Joy Harjo, Natasha Trewethy, Sharon Olds, Garret Hongo, Yusef Komunyakaa & Naomi Shabib Nye. People who watched said it was an AMAZING event unlike anything they had ever seen before.

Also so you know we are holding another exciting reading tomorrow night, January 21st at 7:00 PM to celebrate the publication of Pushcart Press 2022. On October 24, 2021 we had a reading featuring students from the Writers Studio San Francisco program. Each was reading their original work. The event was hosted by Gail Ford, director of the SF program and it featured a mixture of poetry and fiction. Here's a video that we can share as a bit of a summer diversion for our social media followers. The video is based on Phil Schultz's poem "My Dog," which appeared in his Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Failure. The translator who translated Failure into Polish had some of his friends create this video with English subtitles.
