January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Please consider hosting a home screening of SOLD in January to raise funds for the Taught Not Trafficked campaign and share the light!
Every $3,500 raised builds a school classroom to educate 100 children in Nepal. We are also supporting organizations that help survivors get shelter, recovery and vocational training.

Interested in journalism, publishing, South Asia and want to build a community? Our friends at Qissa Bazaar, an online journal and literary magazine for the South Asia region, are looking for more people with an interest in South Asia to get involved!
They're currently looking for:
- Copy editors (who have to have experience)
- A social media editor (who has to be great at posting on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter and knows inside desi jokes)
- And most importantly, writers (who don't have to have experience just the desire to write) to get involved!
Common traits of current team members: detail-oriented, responsible, computer literate (MAC or PC), willingness to learn more about South Asia, always up for desi food and Bollywood songs.

We're thrilled to celebrate one of our members, Dikyi Ukyab, who will be receiving an award for her work in the local Nepalese and Tibetan community. Come support her and other empowered, leading women and their accomplishments this Saturday, April 30th at council member Jimmy Van Bramer's Spring Open House.
