We don’t get the “Sunday Scaries,” we get the scribbles!
Scribbling can represent both drawing and writing for children. They may not be able to write words yet, but they can attempt to make marks that show something. All forms of scribbling are important to the development of drawing, writing, reading, and communicating. Creative arts are at the core of our social-emotional-intellectual curriculum development. Professional Development days are crucial to helping the individual and full teaching team think and take their teaching practice deeper. Today was a very special day in our 14th Street Y Preschool. Some topics covered: Reflection on who I am now compared to Sept and thinking about our children and their growth and development, what I bring to the table- different perspectives- that allow us to have compassion for one another and deepen our teaching bonds, intentional curriculum thinking, parent engagement on the horizon & so much more!

We are grateful for so many things in our 14th Street Y community. Aida helps keep us safe and clean. Everytime she enters the room many children & Teachers will pause their play and say “hola Aida!”
One class surprised their teachers with special “ME” books full of gratitude! The love & gratitude in the air is delicious! Let’s keep this kindness train going all year!
