Preparing scholars for top high schools with our award-winning curriculum & supportive environment. Bronx Charter School for Excellence is a tuition-free network of K-8 public charter schools that select students through a blind lottery system. Our schools are located in Parkchester, Morris Park, Tremont, Williamsbridge, Wakefield, and Little Yemen communities throughout The Bronx. Excellence Community Schools is a three-time National Blue Ribbon School awardee, 2012 and 2023. We have earned the distinction of being a Recognition School by New York State Department of Education for high performance, and our graduates have gone on to attend some of the best specialized, public, parochial, independent day, and boarding high schools in the Northeast.

This summer, our current and alumni Bobcats are strengthening their academic skills through advanced coursework and participating in college and career readiness workshops that will prepare them for success in high school and the workforce.

As our partnership with Girls Prep I, Boys Prep, and Girls Prep II starts a new chapter, we reflect on the many highlights of the 2025-26 school year. We look forward to building on that momentum as we share that as of July 7, 2026, Girls Prep I, Boys Prep, and Girls Prep II are known as Bronx Excellence 6, Bronx Excellence 7, and Bronx Excellence 8, respectively. In addition, Boys Prep will expand to offer co-ed special education classes, and Girls Prep II will add single-gender classes for boys starting in fall 2026.
