Pushing your voice? You might need to miren.
Mirening is a semi-occluded vocal tract exercise that combines mouthing words with the "m" and sirening. That narrowing in your vocal tract helps put good pressure back down onto your vocal folds, making it easier to voice.
Try mirening and notice how that sense of ease can carry right into your natural speaking or singing voice.

What if for one day you allowed yourself to believeÂ
that you don't have to compensate for anything,
compete with anything,
prove anything,
improve anything,
convince anyone of anything?
That you don't HAVE to do anything.
That you are whole and deserving as is.
What if life, just for today, was really this...
You are a headset God gets to peer through.
A unique point of view.
A point of view that has never occurred before
and never will again.
And thru that point of view,Â
you,
the source of everything
gets to experience what it doesn't want to
occasionally
so that it knows more fully
what it DOES want...
which is always more.
More joy, love, and appreciation.
And by focusing on what it does want,
harnesses the power
that creates planets, galaxies, blades of grass...
to create something new
and even better to appreciate.
And as a result,
the whole universe expands
just a little
with possibilities.
What if the point of you,
was simply
your point of view?

Estill Voice Training (Levels 1 & 2) is a game-changer for vocal control, but I hear the same thing from folks all the time: “I want to take it, but I just can’t find the time.”
I get it. The time commitment is a real hurdle. So for my next online course this spring, I’m letting you choose the schedule.
I’ve put together three different format options—ranging from a single 4-day sprint to a more relaxed multi-weekend pacer.
If you’ve been wanting to take this course but have struggled with the scheduling in the past, now is your chance to weigh in.
Comment "Estill" to take the poll.

Ushering in the second half! Thank you all for being part of the journey and helping me be able to do what I love for a living.
Probably one of the biggest terms on TikTok and YouTube is “what is mixing” or “how do I find my mix?” People actually define mixing in so many different ways—that’s why it’s so hard to get a handle on. You’ll realize there’s no such thing as mixing. There’s how you mix in different elements of your voice to create all these different sounds.
Exploring your mix can make or break your power and ease. Watch this video for a quick self-check to find the support your voice really needs.

Pushing your voice? You might need to try “Aliens.”
“Aliens” is my playful term for formant tuning or overtone singing—an exercise that helps you find the sweet spot of your voice. Tuning your vocal tract to a harmonic can make your sound more resonant and feel easier on your throat.
Play with different lip positions and notice how your “alien” sound changes the brightness, darkness, and freedom in your voice.

Voice teachers and SLPs, if you're looking for an alternative to going back to grad school for an expensive, potentially dated vocal pedagogy degree or...
you want to stop pursuing endless, disjointed continuing ed programs...
all the while trying to piece together how exactly to coach professional singers, actors, and corporate leaders, this one's for you.
I'll help you develop faster diagnostic skills and teach you effective training protocols to coach professional singers, actors, TED speakers, and corporate speakers with confidence.
You'll learn the systematic approach we've developed here at the studio over the past 25 years working with folks on Broadway, in Hollywood, on the TED stage, and at Google.
I have 20 openings for this cohort.
Applications close February 15th.
Comment or DM "Mentor Me!" for details.

Pushing your voice? You might need SOVTEs—nasal edition.
Nasal consonants like M, N, or NG are a type of semi-occluded vocal tract exercise (SOVTE) that use your nasal passages to boost vocal efficiency and resonance.
Try out different nasals and notice which one helps you find more ease and freedom in your sound.

Pushing your voice? You might need some SOVTEs—fricatives edition.
Fricatives are those noisy consonants—zz, zh, v, th—that use a narrowing at the tongue tip and lips to create airflow for vocal efficiency. These sounds can boost your resonance and make singing or speaking feel easier.
Try out different fricatives and notice which ones help your voice feel more free and efficient.
