We are so sorry to post the news of the sudden passing of longtime MSM faculty member, Dr. Walter Hilse, on December 31. Condolences to his wife, Pat, and his many students over the past decades, who have lost a generous and brilliant mentor and teacher.

Congratulations to Yilun Wang on her excellent degree recital, and wonderful to hear a performance live and in-person! So pleased that we were able to manage safe and mostly in-person organ teaching at MSM during this challenging year.

The MSM Organ Performance class had a superb visit today to Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, with time on both the Taylor & Boody and new Dobson pipe organs. Action shots pumping the Taylor & Boody sans electrical blower are included! Special thanks to Nick Quardokus for his kind hospitality.

Thank you to Maestro Dennis Keene for allowing us to hold our organ performance class today on the fabulous Quorin organ at Church of the Ascension. An ear-opening experience for French music, and Messiaen in particular!
