This course is designed for students in grades 3 to 5 and delves into the art of character design using the captivating medium of watercolor. About Ashcan’s 3-5th grade Sculpture (Creature & Clockmaking) class:
Discover the exciting world of sculpture with our specially designed course for students in grades 3 to 5. This unique class introduces young learners to the basic elements of sculpture, encouraging creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning. Through engaging projects and supportive instruction, students will explore sculptural techniques and materials, fostering their artistic skills and self-expression. The course content includes creating creatures with collage and sculpture, and designing their own clocks.

Interior pieces are considered by many schools to be one of the most important works to have in your Art Portfolio.

One way to create an interior is by using collage. Making a Collage for your Art Portfolio is a really great idea, and making a collage is enjoyable and fun. We usually think of a collage as gluing magazine and newspaper cut-outs to a background, but you can also use a lot of different materials- which we love to do in our Portfolio Prep classes.

Still Life by .art Portfolio Prep student - making a Still Life for your Art Portfolio can sometimes feel a little predictable and a little boring, so we found a way to make creating a Still Life really fun! In Ashcan’s Pre-college Food/Object Study Art Portfolio Prep Class, we set up all different kinds of foods-and you get to choose the foods and objects you like, and then arrange them in your own unique way, taking them apart and put them back together into sculptural objects.
