Therapy for women and girls with rage and forgotten power. Therapy for good people with full lives

Therapy helps in ways ai never will. Therapists don’t dole out advice, we listen and reflect back. My mission is to help clients tune up and use their own compass. And remember it’s there.

Ok it’s a lil breezy and I don’t know how to find my light or whatever but I love all my cuts from esp when she fixes a diy situation. It’s about summer and I’m getting ready to focus on some research and trainings and writing and pool. What do you wanna learn/fix/ make/grow?

Resilient. Not only a word to describe these lovely nutritious flowers but the title of one of the books that I recommend most often to clients. really is a fatherly sage and now makes a very accessible podcast on current topics in psychology with his son Forrest. thank you both. Resilience can be cultivated. Take in the good. No not in in a distract yourself/ look on the bright side surfacy kind of way (I hate that s**t) but in a building muscles kind of way. We’re not born with muscles, or long distance endurance, some of us train ( erratically) to build those. Have you read Resilient? Thoughts?

I don’t buy a lot of books( ) but these I just love having in my office to keep me company and seep out wisdom. Too much going on to commit to therapy this summer? I’m gonna set you up with some sage tomes to tide you over till fall. What do you want to read about? Hoarding? Body dysmorphia? Addictions, to behaviors either legal or illicit? Grief? Lmk in comments. At the very least you’ll intrigue fellow subway riders. This’ll be fun.

Don’t you love it when “down to earth” stylish Brooklyn evolved mom culture influencers recommend “10 simple things I’m loving this spring “ on their substack and the photographs are beautiful but the simple bespoke caftans/face creams/recycled glass water pitchers are $500 and you feel sad and left out as you finish your 10 hour work days, pay your insane marketplace insurance premium, eat pasta again and slather on the bulls**t drugstore face cream that makes you break out sometimes but is better than nothing and wonder where you’ve failed? What about instead a list of free stuff like podcast episodes that have illuminated mental illness in a new way or folk art I came across with brainstorms of how to make your own, or thoughts on what Shrinking or If I Had Legs I’d Kick You gets right about therapy? What about a bunch of run on sentences? If a newsletter like that was short and had pretty pictures, would you read it?

Let’s just celebrate the maternal instinct today. Not everyone who births babies has it and plenty who don’t have kids have been looking out for younger and more vulnerable people nearly their whole lives. I almost didn’t get to have a baby and get that it is a privilege (and sometimes an unplanned burden) to have children. (Do not assume everyone has the family they wanted. ) I have met some incredible aunts and uncles and teachers and camp counselors and neighbors who are maternal AF
