The richest don't even publish their wealth. In nature, if a monkey hoarded far more food than it could ever use while others in its group went hungry, scientists would likely see that as abnormal or a breakdown in the social system. Cooperation and resource sharing are often key to survival in animal groups.
But in human society, especially in modern capitalism, extreme accumulation of wealth is often celebrated. People who control vast resources can be admired, featured in places like Forbes, and seen as successful, even if large inequalities exist around them.
