Professional dining etiquette is essential for making a favorable impression in both lunch/dinner interviews and social business situations.

For example, showing up on time, being polite to the wait staff, and having proper posture can help you make a good first impression. Also, business meals are often used for networking, not eating.

It has been my pleasure to work with the students at Fairleigh Dickinson over the years. Today we will work on our professional dining etiquette. Knowing how to navigate your table setting is a good start but there are other dining and social skills that make a great impression.

Today I had a wonderful time working with the young ladies of the GEMS program headed by Linda Morrow and Lorraine Graham. We worked on building self confidence, first impressions, networking, trust and how they all work together. These wonderful young ladies are ready to shine!

Yesterday's childrens (and parents)dining and social etiquette luncheon was amazing. Our students learned that food is not always presented in a basic way. When dining at higher end restaurants, food can be presented in a number of ways which can make consuming them an adventure. As an example, the tomato soup was served in a shot glass along with a mini grilled cheese "sandwich" for the soup course. At times we are challenged by certain foods and their content. We must be careful not to share our dislike by making unsavory comments as your dinner companion might just enjoy the food.

Look out for our next social and dining tutorial luncheon and also our adult tea networking event.

Private adult and children tutorials are also available. @ Teaneck, New Jersey
