Seedlings Preschool

All smiles thinking about the first day of school on Monday! We can’t wait for another year of love, learning, laughter, and joy to commence ❤️

After our trip to the Farmer’s Market, we had quite a lot to plant… Flowers, veggies, and herbs, oh my!

We took the weeds out, shoveled, and potted plants and seeds in the soil. Since then, we have been watering and admiring them as we watch them grow.

Our backyard looks absolutely gorgeous and is filled with color. We can’t wait to cook with some of our fresh ingredients soon 🪏🪴🌾

Tuesday’s call for trips to the Farmers Market!

We took a scenic stroll from Seedlings to Borough Hall for a very special reason: to find plants for our backyard garden 🪴🌻🌷 Before deciding what to buy, we admired all the tents… sniffing flowers, herbs, fruits, veggies, breads, and baked goods. Next, we picked out basil, dill, chives, marigolds, geraniums, and daisies to plant, which we’ve already started!

Approaching what would be snack time in our typical schedule, we were hungry and had to have a sweet treat. The best Farmers Market snack? Apple cider donuts! Walking back to school required a quick pitstop to run around together at Cadman Plaza Park☀️🌳😄

What class pets do you have? We have mealworms! 🪱

All of our friends were so excited when our mealworms arrived. We set up their habitat, watch them grow, and have even seen some turn into pupas on their way to becoming beetles. 🪲

We love when these guys come out to play! It’s amazing how gentle everyone is with them. Our students especially enjoy when they have apples and cucumbers with snack so they can share it with our mealworms (and snails too, of course)!

We’ll have more fun tomorrow….

Art at Seedlings!

Art happens every day here, whether it’s in our full-class lessons or freely during center time. Our art cabinet has it all — markers, crayons, dot markers, collage materials, stencils, stamps, pastels, and then some! A two-sided easel means friends can paint and chalk at the same time 🎨🖌️

Science at Seedlings!
