With the launch of the 2023-2024 Common Application and Coalition Application, we wanted to provide an opportunity for you to get to know the Columbia-specific questions on this year's application and how we use them.

These questions allow us to better understand an applicant's intellectual curiosity, habits of mind, love of learning and sense of self. These questions also allow the Admissions Committee to learn more about the applicant in their current community and why they feel Columbia's distinctive experiences in and out of the classroom would be a good fit for their undergraduate education.

We hope these supplemental questions also help applicants consider fit as they work on this piece of the application! While you are working on any school-specific supplemental portions of applications, think about what the questions show about the school's values.
