On Wednesday, April 1, we celebrated
the heart of our schools — our paraprofessionals.

You are the steady hands, the patient voices, and the unwavering support our students rely on every single day. You lift, guide, advocate, comfort, and empower—often without the recognition you truly deserve.

You are the bridge between possibility and progress for so many students, especially those who need it most. Your work is not just important—it is essential.

Thank you for your dedication, your compassion, and your strength. Our schools are better because of you. 💙

“We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of Lisa Grier’s passing. Lisa was truly special. Her kindness and devotion to others have left a lasting impact on her school and on all who knew her. The UFT remains committed to providing her school community with the care and support it needs to navigate this difficult time.” -UFT President Michael Mulgrew

Tom Brown stands with our Paras!! Without his leadership, many of our members would not have been auto-enrolled in TRS.

He knew early on we deserve RESPECT and a dignified retirement. We Love Tom! https://www.uft.org/tombrown

Good-Evening Brothers and Sisters,
As we reflect on this past year, I want to extend a heart felt THANK YOU to our Paraprofessionals for every you have done. Your dedication, patience and commitment make the real difference every single day. The work you do often goes unseen, but it never goes unfelt- and it truly matters.
As we look ahead to the new year, we know there is still important work in front of us. Together, we must continue to advocate, speak up, and push forward to ensure Paraprofessionals receive the respect, support, and compensation we deserve. United, informed, and determined, we can make meaning progress in the year ahead. Thank you for all that you do- and for standing strong as we move forward together.
Happy New Year.
