“And that is precisely what veganism wants to do. It wants to set the animals free; free from exploitation by man, just as in the last century Lincoln, Wilberforce and the other pioneers sought to set free the human slaves.

Veganism is essentially a doctrine of freedom.
It seeks to free the animals from bo***ge to man and man from bo***ge to a false belief — the false belief that he has the moral right to use animals for his own ends.”

ChatGPT:
It’s absolutely possible to combine the schools of thought closest to total liberation with the strategies of anarcho-syndicalism. In fact, many anarchist philosophies are not rigid but are adaptive and capable of synthesizing ideas to address complex social, ecological, and economic challenges. Your proposal to integrate anarcho-syndicalism into a broader total liberation framework is both practical and philosophically coherent. Here’s how this combination could work:

1. Eco-Friendly Worker Cooperatives
* Role of Worker Cooperatives: By prioritizing sustainability, worker cooperatives could be structured to operate within ecological limits. Instead of perpetuating exploitative industrial systems, these cooperatives could emphasize regenerative practices, renewable energy, and environmentally conscious production.
* Alignment with Total Liberation: This addresses ecological concerns by ensuring that human economic activity works in harmony with the environment while still dismantling capitalist exploitation.

2. Setting Ethical Bylaws
* Protecting Marginalized Groups: Worker cooperatives and councils could adopt bylaws that specifically address intersectional oppression, such as racism, sexism, speciesism, and ableism.
* Alignment with Total Liberation: This ensures that economic systems are not just worker-centered but also aligned with broader principles of justice, equity, and inclusivity.

3. Intersecting Anarchist Principles
* Anarcho-Syndicalism as a Strategy: Syndicalism’s focus on direct action, union organizing, and collective decision-making offers a powerful method for transitioning away from capitalist systems.
* Incorporating Eco-Anarchism: These worker-led structures can integrate eco-anarchist principles to prioritize sustainability in both production and governance.
* Incorporating Anarcha-Feminism: Ensuring that gender equity and the dismantling of patriarchy are built into the cooperative structure aligns the strategy with total liberation.
* Incorporating Animal Liberation: Extending the cooperative ethos to include nonhuman animals, such as banning animal exploitation in industries or prioritizing plant-based economies, addresses speciesism.

4. Building an Interconnected Community
* Decentralized but Interdependent: Worker cooperatives could form federations of eco-friendly, intersectional, and justice-oriented communities. This allows for collective problem-solving while avoiding centralized authority.
* Alignment with Total Liberation: Such a model could dismantle oppressive hierarchies while fostering cooperation across diverse groups, ecosystems, and regions.

5. Transitioning Industrial Production
* Adapting Technology: While anarcho-primitivism critiques industrialism, a total liberation approach could adopt appropriate technologies that reduce harm (e.g., renewable energy, permaculture techniques).
* Alignment with Total Liberation: This balances the need for economic systems with ecological sustainability and avoids the extremes of rejecting all technology or embracing harmful industrial practices.

Potential Challenges and Solutions
1. Scalability: Combining these approaches may face challenges in scaling.
* Solution: Use federated models to allow localized decision-making while sharing resources and knowledge.
2. Resistance: Existing power structures may resist this transition.
* Solution: Build grassroots movements that emphasize direct action, education, and alliances across social justice movements.

Conclusion
Combining anarcho-syndicalism's strategies with the holistic vision of total liberation is not only possible but also a compelling path forward. It allows for dismantling capitalism and other forms of oppression while building an economy and society that respects humans, animals, and the environment. By integrating these schools of thought, we can create a more adaptable, inclusive, and sustainable framework for liberation.

Welcome to Total Liberation Community, a grassroots animal rights organization based in New York City. We want Total Animal Liberation and our strategy is to support and build worker cooperatives in the animal rights movement. How do we achieve that? We reach out to members of the animal rights community to start them. In the next few days, we will post more on our strategy and mission.

Thanks!

Paterson elementary school students accused of animal cruelty in attack on cat 05/08/2024

10 years ago today, on May 7, 2014... Quattro the cat's life would be violently taken away by school age children in Paterson, New Jersey. Though he was suffering due to his injuries... it was decided by the vets that he had to be euthanized. The injuries sustained left Quattro in agony. He couldn't even eat properly because his jaw was broken to the point of no full recovery any time soon. That's how bad the injuries were with bricks and stones thrown at the cat who did nothing to deserve this.

The way we treat animals and view them in our society is shaped from a very young age so much so much that in this tragedy you saw a group of children under 10 years old torture a cat for their own pleasure. They got a thrill out of it. Just because we have the capacity to use our strength to destroy another being, our fellow earthlings, doesn't make it okay for us to do as we please. Our entire civilization needs a paradigm shift where animals can be given the respect they deserve. Thankfully there were a few other kids who stepped in to try helping Quattro the cat, but sadly it was too late. As I said, we need a paradigm shift especially for the animals.

He will always be remembered.

Rest in Power to Quattro.

It’s World Day for Animals in Laboratories 🐰🐇🐵🐷🐶

This year also marks the 45th anniversary of this very important and solemn day.

In 1979, The NAVS (National Anti-Vivisection Society) established World Day for Laboratory Animals (also referred to as Lab Animal Day) on April 24 – Lord Hugh Dowding's birthday. This international day of commemoration is recognised by the United Nations, and is now marked annually by anti-vivisectionists on every continent. In 1980, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), led by PETA Founder, Ingrid Newkirk, organized the first World Day for Laboratory Animals protest in the U.S.

This artwork was made for the amazing who rescue lab rabbits and educate on alternatives to animal testing. The artwork itself was done by the amazing: .kolinskaAnimal testing is cruel and notoriously unreliable, time to end it!
