Yellow mangoes are in season right now, in March through July. Major production areas include Mexico—the primary source for the US—along with Central and South America, South/Southeast Asia, Africa, and select areas in California, Florida. They're considered to be a nutrient-rich superfood, and their delicious sweet-tart taste appeals to all ages. They supply fiber, antioxidants, polyphenols, Vitamins C and A, and more. They support immunity, heart health and good digestion. Eat them plain or in salad or salsa for a burst of flavor. Yum!!

I love teaching private sessions because I can focus on the student as an individual and create a practice just for them. My students range in age from their 20s to their 90s. These sessions can be in-person or online. Some people come in once a week, others every few weeks, and others whenever they are ready for an upgrade in their practice.
All levels of experience are welcome. Sessions are usually one hour, enough time for ballwork, yoga and maybe a little massage at the end. Email me to schedule an appointment for a well-deserved self-care recharge!

"You may not always have a comfortable life. And you will not always be able to solve all the world’s problems all at once. But don’t ever underestimate the impact you can have, because history has shown us that courage can be contagious, and hope can take on a life of its own." -- Michelle Obama

Make sure to have plenty of varieties of root vegetables in the winter. Try them roasted, steamed, mashed or stir fried. Just last night I made a stir fry with rutabaga, onion, mushrooms, salt/pepper and lemon juice. Delicious and a great way to weather the snow storm headed our way this weekend!

January 14 and 15 are celebrated in India to honor the return of the sun, the holiday called Makara Sangranti. The ancient sages revered the sun, with a prayer called Surya Gayatri, whose meaning is this: "May the sun illumine our minds and hearts, and support us to take the right action at the right time."
