Her words, not mine. She dances twice a week now and told me she’s “breaking the narratives I thought weren’t possible for me.”

This is what I want you to hear if you’re deep in the mom years or the career years: the story isn’t over, you’re just in a middle chapter.

A student said this to me and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. She stopped dancing at 13 because of an injury. She came back at 27 — scared, out of practice, sure her body would betray her. It didn’t. It had been waiting. If some version of this is your story, the door is open:

This is for one specific person.
If you grew up watching kathak in living rooms or salsa at family parties — this is for you
If you’ve spent years wishing someone would put these art forms on a stage that matched their scale — this is for you.
If you’ve got a friend who’s never been to live dance and you’ve been waiting for the right show to bring them to — this is for you.

We are more similar than we realize…

What does it sound like when tabla and Latin percussion sit in the same measure?

When Carnatic vocals weave through a salsa arrangement?

When ten musicians from three traditions inspire each other and start composing together?

You’ll have to be in the room to find out.
