Park Slope Christian Academy is a privately operated school that believes and practices the basic principles of education that have made America great. We believe in patriotism and free enterprise system. We believe in the Bible as the standard for truth. The curriculum at Park Slope Christian Academy is designed for the average as well as the above average and even gifted student. At the elementary level, great emphasis is placed on the basic fundamentals of education. The Academy’s early childhood curriculum, A BEKA, stresses the importance of the core academic subjects of reading, math, and language arts. The child receives a strong framework of these basic skills through small group instruction, drill tests and application of such needed fundamentals. The A BEKA curriculum is used for these subject areas as well as science and social studies, and provides thorough instruction, application and review techniques. Best of all, the A BEKA curriculum is Christ-centered. Beginning in grade K through grade 8, a wonderful integration of the best curriculum available, provides academic challenge for the Academy students. They learn higher-thinking skills and become familiar with critical analysis. We believe this framework provides a foundation for life. A strong phonic and literature based program that begins at the K-4 level produces enthusiastic and capable young readers. A mathematics program that combines the best of the modern and traditional approaches provides and excellent foundation for more advanced mathematical concepts. Penmanship is also considered important at our school. Homework, report cards, concerned teachers and informed parents are the rule not the exception. P.S.C.A. offers you and your child a wide variety of other related benefits. An after school program is available for the convenience of our working parents. Frequently Asked Questions
