Do a graffiti mural directly to the walls. Come up with your concept and create it just like a real graffiti writer. Come stop by and try it for yourself. You can even add an extra canvas for a little extra fun.
Artist in Residence Pt. 2
recently collaborated with Grafftours & BMP at Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School in RyeBrook, NY for their ‘Artists in Residency’ Program.
During this week-long initiative, Leaf curated a curriculum focused on graffiti and legal street art, beginning with a structured drawing lesson covering hand styles and basic bubble letter (throwup) techniques.
Participants were encouraged to explore their creativity freely, developing unique styles for their names through drawing exercises. They then transitioned from paper and markers to spray paint on canvas, working in teams to create crew throwies. Each group kept their canvas creation as a memento from the program.
Building on their newfound skills, students progressed to painting a physical wall in the school’s outdoor garden. This hands-on experience aimed to enhance their artistic confidence and can-control. Under the guidance of a professional artist, they prepared to unveil a mural on school property, promising an enriching experience for all.
