Our Empire State Building field trip was a treat for some of Hillside Center's dedicated students as we near the end of a wonderful school year of English and citizenship!

What a lovely day to spend time outdoors!

Kids, teens, adults - Come join us for some fun with soccer, badminton, volleyball, and games next Saturday, 3-5pm !

This may be our record attendance for a class! 19 students and volunteers enjoyed conversation combining land features with comparatives and superlatives!

“The river is longer than the stream.”
“This mountain is the tallest.”
“The canyon is wider than the valley.”
“What is smaller, the ocean or the sea?”

“Have you visited many types of landscapes?”
“Do you want to visit an island?”

Of course we also had fun having students draw on the board as the class had to guess the word!

We had a lot of fun conversation about Mother’s Day with adjectives describing them (kind, caring, nurturing, strict, patient), phrases they always told us, the sacrifices they made, and how we can live out our values.

On our weather topic, we learned a lot of vocab and a sentence pattern.

If it rains, we won’t go outside!
If it is hot, I’ll go swimming!
I will not drive if it is foggy.
They will go on a picnic if it isn’t windy.
