I also was awarded the Chancellor's Teachers Honor Roll for creating outstanding student music programs in 1993 and the Very Special Arts Mayor's Award in 1993 & 1995. I also produce other theme assemblies as well as holiday concerts. My staff professional development workshops coordinate with these assemblies. 1. Music: A Tool for Learning 2. The 3 R's in the Classroom: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. Through the production of my “Save the Earth” assembly program, students will learn how and what to recycle, increase their literacy through reading song sheets and know alternative ways of communicating such as sign language and picture symbols. I will perform this assembly in any setting available around the city to raise awareness about this important issue. Students will achieve a sense of self worth and achievement for what they are doing for the community as well as for our future on this planet! As for my workshops, they are all turn key utilizing hands on activities. Lesson plans will be provided that are teacher and student friendly and are easy to implement in all academic areas and can be adapted to all functioning levels and populations. Each workshop will be specifically designed to your population/functioning level.
