So far we have 12 ALUMNI Signed up for our 10th grade panels. We are hoping to have as many alumni as possible come out to support our 10th grade panels. Throughout that day there will be 9th grade portfolio presentations as well (remember those? It's been a minute) and we are also looking for volunteers to come provide feedback to our Freshmen.

Many of you have also asked me about buying SLJ gear. Our PTA is selling SLJ Swag as a way to raise funds for our parent teacher association. The Money will be going to supporting more PTA Events and funding scholarships for our SLJ Students!! I just want to thank everyone who was able co come out for our Homecoming week this past week!! Throughout the stretch of the week we had over 75+ Alumni who made their presence felt as we came back together in our first homecoming since COVID. This year the Staff took the Win against the Alumni !! with a close but tough loss of 48-41 Alumni say they're coming back with a vengeance next year!! stay tuned for more panel events to come and a surprise Alumni gathering later on this spring!! You know SLJ always holds you in our hearts! I wanted to remind you to complete your FAFSA and TAP. If you and/or your family have not completed your taxes, get going on that soon! You have two options for help from SLJ w/FAFSA.

1. Go to the link below; complete instructions just for SLJ grads for doing your FAFSA, remembering your PIN, etc.

2. FAFSA HELP DROP-IN DAYS: College and Career Center staff will be available on March 1 and 2 from 1:30-4:00. Be sure to arrive no later than 4:00; bring your tax returns and W2's for your parent and for yourself, if you file taxes. If your family does not file taxes, please bring SS, SSI, and other income documents for 2011. Without your family's financial documents we will not be able to help you with FAFSA.

Please confirm back if you plan to come on March 1 or 2, so we can be ready for
you.

SLJ Homecoming 2012 was THE most wonderful day! Thanks to everyone who served as a Panelist; thanks to our wonderful Homecoming Committee: Ashley Vega, Chairperson, Saybria Nicholson, Cayla Young, Kelicia Wilkey, Yazmine Nichols, Adrian Rousseau. Hope you enjoyed the REUNION and our send-off for Ms. Orman. SLJ is a special place because of each of you. Please check this page in coming weeks for announcements about SLJ ALUMNI FAFSA HELP DAYS. FEBRUARY 12 is national COLLEGE GOAL SUNDAY--you should be able to get FAFSA help at your college or at one nearby on that date. Please, please stay in touch!
