Today we continued our study of rocks. The children explored and compared different sizes, focusing on our vocabulary words of the day: BIG and small.

This activity supports our infants and toddlers by helping them build early language skills, develop observation, and understand simple concepts through hands-on exploration.

Today we had an amazing circle time! The children enjoyed singing our morning songs, practicing their numbers, exploring colors, and identifying shapes. It was such a joyful and engaging start to our day! 🎶✨

Another amazing day in our classroom! As we continue our Rock Study, the children enjoyed painting their own rocks. They were fully engaged with one another, exploring colors and expressing their creativity.

This activity supports our infants and toddlers by encouraging fine motor skills, early listening skills (following simple directions), and social interaction all while having fun!

We love seeing their little hands at work and their big smiles during the process. 😊

¡Otro día maravilloso en nuestro salón de clase! Mientras continuamos con nuestro estudio de las rocas, los niños disfrutaron pintando sus propias rocas. Estuvieron muy participativos, compartiendo entre ellos, explorando colores y expresando su creatividad.

Esta actividad apoya a nuestros bebés y niños pequeños al fomentar sus habilidades motoras finas, escuchar y seguir instrucciones sencillas, y la interacción social, ¡todo mientras se divierten!

Nos encanta ver sus manitas trabajando y sus sonrisas durante la actividad. 😊

What a wonderful way to start our week! Today, the children were engaged in our Rock Study. They explored by touching and comparing different rocks looking at sizes, shapes, and textures. It was such a hands-on and exciting experience for them!

Activities like this are great for infants and toddlers because they support sensory development, language growth (learning new descriptive words like rough, smooth, big, and small), and early thinking skills through exploration and comparison. These simple discoveries help build curiosity and a love for learning from a young age.

¡Qué hermosa manera de comenzar la semana! Hoy los niños participaron en nuestro Estudio de las Rocas. Exploraron tocando y comparando diferentes rocas observando tamaños, formas y texturas. ¡Fue una experiencia muy divertida y práctica para ellos!

Este tipo de actividad es excelente para bebés y niños pequeños, ya que apoya el desarrollo sensorial, el lenguaje (aprendiendo palabras como suave, áspero, grande y pequeño), y las habilidades de pensamiento temprano al explorar y comparar. Estos pequeños descubrimientos fomentan la curiosidad y el amor por el aprendizaje desde temprana edad.

What a wonderful and fun-filled day we had! ☀️
The children had an amazing time at the park running, playing, and going down the slide. They especially enjoyed the baby swings, and to top it all off, we had a blast with bubbles from our mega bubble machine! 🫧

It was so sweet to see some children running and popping the bubbles, while others watched in amazement, wondering, “What is that?” 😊

¡Qué día tan maravilloso y lleno de diversión tuvimos! ☀️
Los niños disfrutaron muchísimo en el parque corrieron, jugaron y se deslizaron por el tobogán. Les encantaron especialmente los columpios de bebés, y para cerrar con broche de oro, ¡nos divertimos muchísimo con las burbujas de nuestra máquina de burbujas gigante! 🫧

Fue muy lindo ver a algunos niños correr y reventar las burbujas, mientras otros las miraban sorprendidos, como diciendo: “¿Qué es eso?” 😊

Wow! today was one of the most exciting activities we’ve had so far in our paper study! The children had so much fun exploring and cutting paper. One of our students, Evangeline,even took the lead and showed her friends how to cut such a proud teaching moment!

Everyone was fully engaged touching different paper textures, tossing pieces in the air, and joyfully shouting, “Hooray, it’s paper study day!” The laughter filled the room. At one point, the children looked around and said, “Ms. Maria, it’s a mess!” and I replied, “Yes, it’s a paper study mess!” which made them laugh even more.

It truly was a wonderful and meaningful morning full of learning through play.

Buenos días, familias. ¡Feliz jueves!

¡Wow! Hoy fue una de las actividades más emocionantes que hemos tenido hasta ahora en nuestro estudio del papel. Los niños disfrutaron muchísimo explorando y cortando diferentes tipos de papel. Una de nuestras estudiantes, Evangeline, incluso les mostró a sus compañeros cómo cortar un momento muy especial de liderazgo!

Todos estaban muy involucrados tocando las diferentes texturas del papel, lanzando pedacitos al aire y diciendo con alegría: “¡Hurra, es día de estudio del papel!” La risa llenó el salón. En un momento, los niños dijeron: “Ms. Maria, ¡es un desastre!” y yo respondí: “¡Sí, es un desastre de estudio del papel!” y eso los hizo reír aún más.

Definitivamente fue una mañana maravillosa, llena de aprendizaje a través del juego.

Today we continued working on our Light 💡 sequence of study.
Our investigation question was: How do you turn the light on and off?

The children had hands-on experience using our light board, switching the lights on and off. It was so much fun and a great learning moment as we introduced our new vocabulary words: on and off.

We would also like to thank one of our parents, Ms. Jensey, Jaxson’s mom, for bringing in a red light to share with the children. Thank you for your support!

And a fun detail the light bulb 💡 is actually a squish ball! This allows our youngest student Ayden to explore and investigate using an age-appropriate toy at his level.

Hoy continuamos trabajando en nuestra secuencia de estudio sobre la Luz 💡.
Nuestra pregunta de investigación fue: ¿Cómo encendemos y apagamos la luz?

Los niños tuvieron una experiencia práctica usando nuestro tablero de luces, encendiendo y apagando los interruptores. Fue muy divertido y un excelente momento de aprendizaje mientras introducíamos nuestras nuevas palabras de vocabulario: encendido y apagado.

También queremos agradecer a una de nuestras mamás, Ms. Jensey, mamá de Jaxson, por traer una luz roja para compartir con los niños. ¡Gracias por su apoyo!

Y un detalle especial el bombillo💡 es en realidad una pelota sensorial (squish ball)! Esto permite que nuestro estudiante más pequeño, Ayden, también pueda explorar con un juguete apropiado para su edad y nivel.

Today we started exploring our Study of Light. The children explored different kinds of light 💡. We learned about on and off, and we also made hand shadows on the wall.

It was fun, hands-on, and full of curiosity for our infants and toddlers!

Hoy comenzamos a explorar nuestro Estudio de la Luz. Los niños exploraron diferentes tipos de luz 💡. Aprendimos sobre encendido y apagado, y también hicimos sombras de manos en la pared.

¡Fue una actividad divertida, práctica y llena de curiosidad para nuestros bebés y niños pequeños!

🎒 Morning Group Activity:
Today, our little explorers had a fun-filled group activity as we began our new sequence of study: Bags!
We explored new words like “open,” “big,” and “small.” Using glue and colorful pre-cut bag clipart, each child created their own artwork on a canvas prepared by the teacher. The children enjoyed gluing, exploring textures, and expressing their creativity while learning through play.

It was a wonderful start to our Bags Study full of curiosity, teamwork, and fun! 💕

🎒 Actividad de Grupo en la Mañana
Hoy nuestros pequeños exploradores disfrutaron de una divertida actividad en grupo mientras comenzamos nuestra nueva secuencia de estudio: ¡Las Bolsas!
Aprendimos nuevas palabras como “abrir,” “grande” y “pequeña.” Usando pegamento y recortes coloridos de bolsas, cada niño creó su propia obra de arte en un lienzo preparado por la maestra. Los niños disfrutaron pegando, explorando diferentes texturas y expresando su creatividad mientras aprendían jugando.

¡Fue un maravilloso comienzo de nuestra secuencia de bolsas, lleno de curiosidad, trabajo en equipo y mucha diversión! 💕

We Just Wrapped Up Our First Unit: Containers!
Our infants and toddlers had so much fun exploring and learning through our container play. Children learned new words like small, big, open, and close while practicing how to dump and fill craft sticks into tiny holes. It was exciting, sometimes a little tricky, but always full of smiles and learning moments!

Why is playing with containers so important in Early Childhood Education?

✏️Language Development – Children build vocabulary as they hear and use words like in, out, open, close, full, and empty.

✏️Fine Motor Skills – Placing objects through small openings strengthens little fingers and hands, preparing them for writing later on.

✏️Cognitive Growth – Children learn about cause and effect, problem-solving, and early math concepts such as size, quantity, and space.

✏️Patience & Persistence – Sometimes the task is hard, but our little learners practice focus and determination.

✏️Joy of Discovery – Most importantly, children gain confidence and pride in what they can do, while having fun!
