The NYJA® Small Ensemble, directed by Peck Allmond, takes on this hard-bop classic from Jackie McLean’s Jacknife sessions featuring Lee Morgan. Recorded in 1965, “Blue Fable” captures the adventurous spirit of a pivotal era in jazz, blending strong melodies, blues feeling, and forward-looking improvisation.
