SVA’s Summer Residencies in New York City offer emerging and mid-career artists time, space and a supportive community in which to develop ideas and focus on their artistic direction. In addition to our time-honored studio residencies, a variety of innovative professional immersion programs provide opportunities for artists to explore new areas of social and technological practice. A unique combination of creative and professional resources provides a rich environment for growth and opportunity in the current vibrant art scene.

Object still lives created as part of Riccardo's Masters in Digital Photography thesis titled, "Proof of Life" documenting personal ephemera meant not only to hold value to the owner of the objects, but to impart that material desire onto the viewer.⁠

Proof of Life, will be exhibited at the SVA Gramercy Gallery () in New York City next month.⁠

“My practice unfolds at the intersection of plant life, light, and time, where biological processes become both medium and collaborator. I work with living systems not as subjects to be represented, but as active participants whose internal chemistries, metabolic rhythms, and responses to environmental conditions shape the work as it emerges.”⁠
⁠
Through photography and living systems, Peterson’s work explores collaboration with the natural world, allowing process, transformation, and time to become part of the image itself.⁠
