Looking back and remembering Daryl. He was such a wonderful part of our class. Seen here as we planned and prepared for our special annual class show - the one everyone looked forward to each year.
Naomi Campbell started teaching the Contemporary Figure in watercolor at The Art Students League of New York in 2007.
This site was created as a community place for former/current students from my class to connect. Welcome to the Naomi Campbell Watercolor Student page. For the last 10 years I have been teaching so many of you with great pleasure. This page is for you to stay in touch with everyone.

It has been a bit of a lapse in posting the work from class, but everyone is still painting. I thought I would add some more work from 2020 as we think about the coming fall session. Guess who painted each one of the watercolors below!

Looking back at another moment in 2020 at The Art Students League of New York - the March class exhibition reception with Daryl celebrating alongside Gus, Miriam and Larry. Everyone was enjoying the results of all the hard work that had made the exhibition so special.
Our class work are the dynamic white paintings to the left of the gallery.
Other moments include artwork from the class with Janina, Shobha, Murali, Naomi and Bonnie. There were so many more who attended the reception.

We begin this fall season at The Art Students League of New York without my wonderful monitor Daryl Cooper. He always made everyone feel so at home in class and touched all our hearts deeply.
I know he will be with us in spirit as we all pick up our paintbrushes this September. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Pictured below: with his work in 2015 in kinder times; the black and white photo in 2019 with Patrice and I as we left the building in summer and some of his work I had photographed.

A walk through of The Art Students League of New York Class Show this year courtesy of Stephen Durkee. Since the show had to close earlier, we thought an overview would be appreciated for those who missed it. More images to come.
