The Rockhouse Foundation transforms the places where Jamaica’s children learn and supports the great people who teach them.

Since 2004 the foundation has invested over US$5 million building, expanding and renovating seven Negril area public schools and the Negril Community Library. All administrative and marketing costs of the foundation are underwritten by Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Negril Beach Resort, Miss Lily’s and their owners, so all donations go directly to the projects and programs.

"Sustainable" and "responsible" get used a lot these days - but sometimes you have to ask: WTF do they even mean? At Rockhouse Hotel, it means we invest in the best outcomes for our guests, our team, our community and our land ALL year round - not just in an emergency - so your stay doesn't just feel good, it does good. Check out the Rockhouse Foundation for more on our community projects and the Sav Inclusive School
- which is already back open just one month after the storm ☔️ www.rockhousefoundation.com

Life is better with a little give in it, and Jamaica is proof that when you put good into the world, it comes back to you.

We thank you for the outpouring of support, and we’re paying it forward to those who need it most.

We’re so close to hitting our fundraising goal, so this Giving Tuesday, if you haven’t already, please consider donating to our Hurricane Relief GoFundMe. https://www.gofundme.com/f/rockhouse-foundation-hurricane-melissa-relief-fund?brid=ww-I8Ea412f_b2PxwpJBJg

Here’s an update from Anna Thwaites Wallace, President of the Rockhouse Foundation on our work in Jamaica, made possible through your donations

The support from our donors following Hurricane Melissa has been a lifeline, and we’re so grateful to have such an established network on the ground at a time when Savannah La Mar and the surrounding areas need us the most. The ongoing need is still great and many families have been displaced. We want to help them rebuild their homes and lives. We can do this with your help, by donating at https://www.gofundme.com/f/rockhouse-foundation-hurricane-melissa-relief-fund.

The Rockhouse Foundation has already started clean up and repairs on the Sav Inclusive school, and while we work on a timeline for re-opening, we are currently using the campus as a World Central Kitchen site to distribute meals within hard hit communities of Sav and the surrounding neighborhoods where our staff and student families live

We have already dispersed an emergency cash grant to every single teacher and staff member who works at the school - all of whom have been affected in some way - so they have something to start on immediate repairs to their homes and cover basic needs.

As many have said, rebuilding will be a marathon - not a sprint, so every donation counts, and everyone here on the ground at the Foundation is making sure that those donations really count.

Stay tuned for regular updates on the progress of our recovery efforts and the positive impact that your donations make.

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Negril Beach Resort, and Miss Lily's teams have come together with World Central Kitchen to prepare and deliver over 1,000 free meals each day to those in need across our Negril and Savanna-la-Mar communities.

Through the Rockhouse Foundation, we’ve already begun repairs at Sav Inclusive School and are distributing relief funds directly to our teachers and administrators to help meet immediate needs.

The road ahead is long — but together, we’re cooking, helping, and rebuilding. 💛Support our work in Savanna-la-Mar through the Rockhouse Foundation, a US-registered 501(c)(3) charity — DONATE: https://www.gofundme.com/f/rockhouse-foundation-hurricane-melissa-relief-fund

HELP US REBUILD THE SAV INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY AFTER HURRICANE MELISSA

Hurricane Melissa brought devastating winds and flooding to Western Jamaica. While Negril was spared the worst, Savanna-la-Mar — the parish capital and home to The Sav Inclusive School — was hit hard.

The storm made landfall less than ten miles from our campus. Roofs were torn off, classrooms flooded, therapy rooms and learning materials destroyed, and our grounds left badly damaged. Many in the surrounding community suffered even greater loss.

The Rockhouse Foundation Hurricane Recovery Fund will provide direct support to rebuild the Sav Inclusive School and to help the students, families, and teachers most affected by the storm. https://www.gofundme.com/f/rockhouse-foundation-hurricane-melissa-relief-fund

Thank you for the incredible outpouring of concern and messages. 💙 Our hearts are heavy for Jamaica today.

We’re still working to reach every member of our Sav Inclusive school family — with cell service down and roads blocked, it’s been challenging — but so far, everyone we’ve connected with is safe. 🙏

So many of you have asked how you can help. We’re launching the Rockhouse Foundation Hurricane Recovery Fund to support our local school community, especially in Savanna-la-Mar, where the Sav Inclusive School and surrounding neighborhoods were hit hard.

We’re deeply thankful for your love and support — together we’ll help rebuild stronger than ever. 🇯🇲

The Wolfpack is in the house! Dr. Jamie Pearson and her colleagues, Jennifer Macko and Devosha Mason-Martin, delivered an amazing, impactful week of professional development with Sav Inclusive’s entire staff. Pat McKee (a proud NC State alum) and his wife, Julie Russo, who have already pledged USD$1 million to the ongoing expansion of the Sav Inclusive compound, are also underwriting critical new initiatives to support Sav Inclusive’s staff, most notably the partnership with ’s Education Department who will be an ongoing presence at school elevating all we do in service of our students.
